As we stand on the eve of ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“, we are brought to one of the most sacred moments in all of scripture. Tomorrow, many across the world will acknowledge ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ as a historical event. Churches will mention Acts chapter 2.

Sermons may be preached about the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. Some will reflect on the birth of the Church. Others will remember the sound from Heaven, the cloven tongues like as of fire, and the miracle of languages that filled the upper room. Some will preach pentecost was for the jews inly or not for us today.

But ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ was never intended to be merely remembered.

It was meant to be ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž๐.

The day before ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ carries a powerful message for every believer. It reminds us what it means to prepare our hearts for the promise of God.

๐๐ž๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ž there was a suddenly from Heaven, there was waiting.
๐๐ž๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ž there was the sound of a rushing mighty wind, there was surrender.
๐๐ž๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ž there was the fire, there was obedience.

For days after Jesus ascended into Heaven, the disciples waited in Jerusalem exactly as He commanded them. This was no casual waiting. This was not passive delay. This was expectation filled with prayer, faith, surrender, and anticipation.

They were standing on the edge of a moment that would forever alter human history, even though they did not yet fully understand what it would look like.

What makes this waiting so profound is who these disciples already were.

These were not unbelievers.

These were men and women who had walked with Jesus. They had witnessed His miracles. They had heard His teaching. They had seen Him crucified. They had stood in awe before His resurrection. For forty days after rising from the dead, Jesus had appeared to them and spoke concerning the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

Their understanding had been opened.
Their faith had been strengthened.
They had received direct instruction from the risen Christ Himself.

And yet, even after all of this, Jesus still told them to ๐ฐ๐š๐ข๐ญ.

๐‹๐ฎ๐ค๐ž ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’:๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ— And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

This reveals something many miss. Walking with Jesus was not enough. Seeing miracles was not enough. Hearing His words was not enough. Even believing He was risen was not enough.

They still needed the ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž of the Father. They still needed to be ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ with the Holy Ghost.

This is one of the greatest truths ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ teaches us.

๐‘๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง is not enough without ๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.

๐Š๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ž๐๐ ๐ž is not enough without ๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ .

๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ is NOT complete until it responds in obedience to the full gospel.

This is why ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ matters.

๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ is not simply about a spiritual experience.

It is the fulfillment of everything Jesus came to establish.

It is the doorway into the ๐๐ž๐ฐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐š๐ง๐ญ.

It is the restoration of what Adam lost in Eden. In the garden, man lost direct communion with God through spiritual death.

At ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“, through the outpouring of the Spirit, Heaven came to dwell inside humanity again.

This is why Jesus declared in ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง ๐Ÿ‘:๐Ÿ“

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he CANNOT enter into the kingdom of God.

The Kingdom could not be entered by admiration and belief.
It could not be entered by intellectual agreement. It could ONLY be entered through the ๐ง๐ž๐ฐ ๐›๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ก.

That new birth was revealed on ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“.

When the crowd asked Peter what they must do, he did not offer a simplified formula detached from obedience.

He gave them Heavenโ€™s revealed response.

๐€๐œ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ:๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ–

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

This was not Peterโ€™s opinion.
This was the fulfillment of the resurrection ministry of Christ.
This was the opening of the Kingdom.

This was the answer Jesus had spent forty days preparing His disciples to preach.

And now here we are, standing on the day before ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“.

In many ways, we stand where those disciples once stood, in that sacred space between promise and fulfillment, preparing for what God still desires to pour out upon hungry hearts.

๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ is the time to search ourselves.

๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ is the time to lay aside RELIGION, doubt, resistance, man made denominational doctrine and every preconceived idea that has kept us from fully obeying the gospel.

๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ is the time to repent deeply.
๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ is the time to prepare for baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.
๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ is the time to hunger for the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

The same promise given in that upper room still stands today.

The fire has never gone out.

The Spirit has never stopped being poured out.

Acts 2 was not the closing of an era.

It was the ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  of one.

Tomorrow is not about commemorating what happened two thousand years ago.

It is about recognizing that the promise is still ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž, still ๐š๐ฏ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž, and still ๐ง๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ.

๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“ is not just history.

It is ๐ข๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.

It is God calling ๐˜๐Ž๐” back into restored communion with Himself.

It is Heaven reaching again for the hungry, the surrendered, and the obedient.

So as we approach ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“, do not simply admire what happened in the upper room as if it was for them back then!

๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ž yourself to enter into it.

Do not simply celebrate ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“.

๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž it.

The disciples waited because they knew something was coming.

And if you will prepare your heart, repent, obey, and believe, the same Spirit that filled that upper room is still ready to fill yours.

Tomorrow we celebrate ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“. Tonight we prepare for the promise.

Do not let religious tradition, denominational loyalty, or the voice of man cause you to miss what God has for you today.

The question has never been what religion says about ๐๐„๐๐“๐„๐‚๐Ž๐’๐“.

The question is what ๐†๐Ž๐ƒ said.
